AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST MINISTRY

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:5 NIV)

Mission: The purpose of the Ambassadors for Christ is to lead young people ages 4 to 18 to a personal commitment to Christ and assist them in their Christian growth experience as they fellowship, and service opportunities tht will encourage youth to grow in godliness.

Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays 6;30pm to 7:30pm

Rites of Passage Program

Program Description: Rites of Pages will provide biblical guidance for youth grades six through twelve of the greater Spartanburg area and the surrounding communities. All Rites of Passage programming is available to the whole community. Church membership is not a requirement. The program will teach Principles for Living, which fills a need in every aspect of life. A satisfying, bountiful life requires us to know and love ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually. To educate ourselves and understand that education is a never-ending process that goes above and beyond schooling. To be responsible for creating, supporting and maintaining a safe and healthy community; to have pride and knowledge about our ancestral past; to know who our friends and enemies are; to seek truth and wisdom; to embrace our rich history and traditions; to find and achieve our divine purpose, and; to exercise our right to vote. The program topics will hopefully establish a lifelong framework that our youth can be grounded in, expand upon, and use as they grow and learn for years to come.

Mission Statement: To move into adulthood free of drugs, alcohol, and criminal activity, to be competitive and excel in their career paths, form stable healthy homes, and to flourish in their Christian walk of faith.

AUTUMN AGE MINISTRY

The Autumn Age Ministry's purpose is to encourage Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church members ages 55 plus to fellowship in Godliness and encourage growth in faith, joy, and peace by providing mentors for all members. These Autumn Age Saints promotes outreach and community service to the sick and shut-in coordinate weekly hospital, nursing home, and home visits to our convalescent and bereaved members to fellowship, pray, sing to the Lord, read scripture, and meet their needs. We also arrange pleasurable inspirational trips for senior members.

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Monday of each month @ 10:00am

BEAUTIFICATION

The purpose of this ministry is to decorate and beautify our church facilities we also assist with special events as requested. Meeting Schedule: Meetings are scheduled as needed usually once a month.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Christian Education is the ministry that undergirds all of the other ministries of the church. The primary focus is to educate the congregation relative to the tenets of christianity. To teach Baptist Doctrine and to move the congregation from membership to Discipleship .We follow the Great Commission and the mission statement of the church.

We meet with the Sunday Church School Worker's Conference the 3rd Tuesday in each month at 6pm.

CULINARY MINISTRY

The culinary ministry is responsible for all food serving at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. The ministry has accountability and oversees the operation, use, cleanliness, and maintenance of the church kitchen and its equipment. The Culinary Ministry provides food for all special occasions, upon request from other Macedonia ministries, whether a full dinner or just appetizers. The Culinary Ministry also provides food for funerals, receptions, and other church supported activities.

DEACONS MINISTRY

Leader: Dea. Robert Brewer
The purpose of the deacons/deaconess ministry is to work in close alignment with all of the other ministries to meet congregational needs and be actively involved in all church programs.

Our missions is to endeavor to promote family unity by supporting one another, socializing together, and loving one another. The ministry works to improve communication, verbalize concerns, and resolve family conflicts.

Our duties include praying for the pastor and relieving him of temporal affairs in the church. We are to visit the sick and needy members of our congregations, and should be good counselors. We believe Jesus is the head of the church. He is Lord, Savior and Sheppard. Deacons of the Church shall be ordained to provide spiritual leadership for, and service to, the fellowship of the Church.

DEACONESS MINISTRY

The Deaconess Ministry assists the deacons in the preparation of the table for the Lord's Supper. Preparation for Pulpit for the Pastor. Assist the deacons in meeting the needs of the women in the church and community. Administer aid to families during bereavement, visit the sick and shut-in. Assist the candidates in preparing for baptism. Assist in improving the ties that connects the church family in a common purpose. Assist in welcoming new members to our church body.

Meeting Schedule: 1st Saturday of each month at 9:00 am

LEARNING CENTER MINISTRY

The Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Learning Media Center seeks to inform, transform, enlighten, empower, and inspire the congregation and the community through different forms of media.

HOPE MINISTRY

The HOPE Ministry mission is to express and extend the love of Jesus Christ as His servants in ministry. The ministry goals consists of empowering goals, enlighten all people of God's grace and mercy, encourage transformation from worldly to spiritual living, and emphasize God's purpose for our lives.

3M MARRIAGE MINISTRY

The 3M Marriage Ministry seeks to provide an arena for the fellowship of married couples in an effort to strengthen, encourage, inspire, and enhance the marriage relationship through biblical and practical resource information as well as insightful and recreation experiences.

Meeting Schedule: Meetings are usually held on the 4th Sunday of each month at 4 p.m.

MACEDONIA MOUNTAIN MOVERS

The Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Mountain Movers Ministry, an outreach ministry of the MMBC Deaconess Ministry was developed in response to Dr. Ian Smith's 50 Million Pound Challenge national health initiative. The ministry at Macedonia seeks to encourage members to develop a holistically healthy life style spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Weekly meetings usually involve members participating in an exercise routine, interacting in informative workshops about living a holistically healthy lifestyle, and enjoying a delightfully healthy meal.

MEN OF VISION

It is the divine motivation of this ministry to lead men and young male adult to the development and adaptation of a strong Christian mentality that will better equip them with the tools necessary to live production spiritual lives. It is in the vein that the Brotherhood Organization was initiated and, through the leadership of God Almighty, the teachings of His son Jesus Christ, and the Power of the Holy Ghost, that this ministry shall grow and prosper.

Music Ministry

The purpose of the Music Ministry is to produce an atmosphere of encouragement and empowerment through music. The Music Ministry sets the mood for the unsaved to hear the gospel and receive the gift of salvation, awakens the newly saved to hear the Word Of God for instruction, and sets the mood for praise and worship of the Lord for the more mature Christian. The Music Ministry is a vehicle to usher in the presence of God by setting and establishing an atmosphere that is conducive to worship. Members of the Music Ministry seek to glorify God using their talents to make music of excellence that reflects on the One who is the source of all good gifts.

Audio/Visual Ministry

It is the mission of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Audio/Visual Ministry is to enhance and extend the worship experience of the congregation by providing quality sound, video and audio during worship and remote locations of the sanctuary. CD's and DVD's of all sermons, present and past, are duplicated and available for sale. This ministry, in its purest form, should provide comfort and encouragement to the sick and shut-in, provide for individual or additional biblical study after Sunday worship, and preserve for prosperity messages and teachings inspired by God.

Dance Ministry

Fruit Of The Spirit Inspirational Dance Ministry
The Fruit Of The Spirit Inspirational Dance Ministry (FOTS) a prophetic arts ministry that encompasses the visual art of dance and music with a purpose to deliver the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all ages, genders and ethnic backgrounds.

This Dance Ministry is dedicated to spreading the love of Christ and making God known through dance. Our assignment from the Father is to tell and show the world, through this prophetic ministry, just how awesome God is. We want to be instruments used by God to prompt the world to see true wisdom, which is only found in the Lord. Therefore, we offer our bodies as living sacrifices, and strive never to be lacking in zeal, but keeping our spiritual fervor in serving the Lord, for He equipped us to become all things to all men.

NURSERY MINISTRY

The purpose of the Nursery Ministry is to provide Stimulating and developmentally appropriate Christian-based learning experience for children Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. The Nursery is designed to communicate the love of God by nurturing our future leaders while they are in early years. We have needs for weekly volunteers.

PRAISE TEAM MINISTRY

Leader: Tamela Spann
This ministry is forerunner of worship. The Praise Team creates an inviting environment and constructs the proper atmosphere where the Holy Spirit is comfortable to move and manifest Himself. They help us to totally focus on Jesus and lead others into the presence of the Lord. Remember we are worshipping the God who is the answer to those problems. The minister of music is both talented and anointed to accomplish the ministry of the Praise Team.

POLICIY & PROCEDURE MINISTRY

Leader:
Our primary responsibility is to formulate set policies, principles, rules and guidelines for day to day operations of the church which are then adopted to reach its long-term goals. We make them widely accessible by putting them in the form of a published booklet that is given to employees and individual deemed necessary. We also formulate job descriptions for the various church positions. We also formulate new job descriptions for new job positions. Our goals are to continue to update policy when necessary. We contribute by helping to structure clear boundaries for employee and employer. We feel without clearly written procedures and policy we (the church) would become disorganized when it comes to employee and employer roles. We feel we provide coordination of all personnel so that the church's goal and objectives are met.

PUBLICITY MINISTRY

The Publicity Ministry is responsible for effectively communicating the mission and vision of the church in a way that exemplifies the work that Jesus has commissioned us to do within the community. Generate an awareness and enthusiasm for activities among members and the Spartanburg Community. Encourage the creation of door hangers and flyers to be circulated within the community and submit ads and PSA's (Public Service Announcements) to newspapers, local television, and radio stations.

RELAY FOR LIFE

Our ministry is an outreach one, which raises funds, which are donated to the American Cancer Society. We have been in existence since 2003. These funds are used for screening for early detection of cancer, and for research. Each year our team comes up with ideas that will generate revenue. Our congregation donates individually, as well as strongly supports our fundraisers. Many of our team members are cancer survivors or who has a loved one who is having or has had a bout with cancer. With every quarter we raise, we are confident that we are saving lives by creating more birthdays as we fight back against a dreaded disease.

SECURITY MINISTRY

SENIOR MISSIONARY SOCIETY

The call to service to Christian service through missions is most rewarding. Missionaries knows Jesus and by meditating and communing with Him through prayer and bible study, is made sensitive to His leading into Mission work. This work involves nurturing and caring for the home; visiting the sick; caring for the widowed, elderly, and orphaned; feeding and clothing the needy; encouraging the discouraged; evangelizing the lost and any act which promotes kingdom building.

Meeting Schedule: The missionary society is divided into circles that represent all sections of the city. Each circle schedules their monthly meeting. Senior Missionary Society

SHEPHERD'S CARE

The Shepherd's Care Ministry assists the Pastor within the ministry; serving as aides to the Pastor his family. The purpose of the Shepard's care Ministry is to provide service to the Pastor, ensuring that he is fully equipped, prepared, and able to fulfill his responsibilities in leading the congregation. The ministry provides the support needed to the Pastor and his family, whether it be in the form of prayer, encouragement through words, or actions that show their love and gratitude to the Pastoral family. Members must be prepared to assist by caring for the Pastor's belongings, anticipating the Pastor's needs and demands so as to properly furnish and supply what is needed. Our Mission: To serve and be of support to our Pastor and his family at all areas of their lives with the love of God, ensuring their needs are met at all times.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The Social Media Ministry is an effective way of communicating the church's social networking via (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) by ensuring that relevant and prominent information about church events are regularly shared and updated.

We also go beyond the walls of our church by ways of social media to encourage others to learn of God's love. We pray that it enables you to develop a closer walk with Christ.

SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL

We welcome you to our Sunday Church School Department. Sunday Church School is delighted that you have joined in being one of God's lights to build up his kingdom.

The mission of the Sunday Church School is the Great Commission Matthew 28:19 and 20; "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And Lo I am with you always even until the end of the world."

The purpose of the Sunday Church School is to share and impart to children of all ages, adults, visitors and friends' information about the good news of Jesus Christ. Jesus intentional were clear and specific "Go make disciples and teach them to observe my commandments." Moreover we are admonished in Ephesians 4:11-12 to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and for building up the body of Christ.

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

The Trustee Ministry's mission is to be good steward and manage the financial blessings our church through tithes and offerings and the persons associated with those assets. Trustees are also the key Components in handling and assuring the fiscal and financial viability of the MMBC. We also, maintain the physical structure of the church, make sure that the church is a comfortable place for people to meet together to meet with God.

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Monday at 6:00 pm, monthly. Special call meetings are sometime necessary.

USHER MINISTRY

"For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalm 84:10

The purpose of this ministry is to reflect the Christian dedication of the pastor and all who come to worship. Our vision is to be transformed so that we are better equipped to do the work that the usher has been called to do.

The Usher Ministry helps to win souls for Christ by making people feel comfortable and welcome in our worship service. They are Doorkeepers for Christ during Sunday morning worship services and other programs/services. They assist with seating of the congregation, distribute programs and other literature, and direct the offering.

The purpose of the Greaters Ministry is to extend courtesies to our worshippers who attend worship services, providing them with a welcoming greeting from Macedonia church family outreach includes assisting in the soup kitchen, visit the sick, and take gifts to the nursing homes, adopting a family for Christmas and contribute funds to assist kids to go to the National Convention. We also give back to the church by having fundraiser for Usher's Day. There are four segments of this ministry:

WELCOME CENTER

WIDOWS TO WIDOWS

WOMEN OF PURPOSE

Leader: Tamathe Jones
The Women's Ministry is a ministry for all women! It inspires women to relax and unwind, to form new friendships and renew old ones. Most importantly, Women of Purpose ministry provides an opportunity to become stronger Christians. The purpose is to challenge the women of MMBC to pursue unity and harmony through spiritual, physical, and emotional growth thus affecting the church, the family, and the community. This ministry encourages participation in women conferences, seminars, and institutes associated with the Church. The Women's Day observance is 3rd Sunday in November each year.

VICTORY MINISTRY

The Victory Club are spouses of the Trustee Ministry and are the ones who keep the sanctuary beautiful during Easter and Christmas. The congregation is given the opportunity to purchase Easter Lilly's for Easter and Poinsettias during Christmas. These items can be purchased in honor of or memory of a family member.

YOUTH EXPLOSION

Leader: Reggie Browning
The Youth Explosion Committee is a group of adults combined to organize the Youth Explosion, which is an annual event held at MMBC. The goal of Youth Explosion is to offer a constructive community based conference for community adolescent and teenagers that tangibly assists with improving the social, health, and welfare issues that affect the lives of children. The committee meets roughly three-fourths of the year for planning, surveying, fundraising, and the general task of putting the weekend together.
